POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Data and Systems Analyst’s responsibilities include developing and optimizing SQL queries that support Neumont’s data-driven processes as well as supporting and administering Neumont’s various IT systems. This role writes complex SQL queries, creates and maintains stored procedures, and designs database schemas to ensure efficient data access and reporting. The Data and Systems Analyst role requires strong expertise in SQL programming, PowerBI, Excel, and systems and database administration. This role also requires the ability to collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to meet Neumont’s business objectives. The Data and Systems Analyst plays a key role in ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security across the organization’s systems while also being a valuable contributor to the I.T. support team.
TASKS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting.
- Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way.
- Collaborate with developers and other teams to design database schemas and optimize query performance.
- Develop and implement data migration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Create and manage database automation scripts for maintenance, backup, and recovery processes.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues, resolve bottlenecks, and improve overall system performance.
- Monitor database health, implement security policies, and enforce compliance with data governance and regulatory requirements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for database infrastructure, processes, and procedures.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure data protection.
- Assist the rest of the IT team in maintaining and troubleshooting system and network support issues
- Perform any other task, duty or responsibility assigned by the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field) or 3+ years of database programming experience.
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with strong attention to detail.
- Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues to management and other employees.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Work with effectively students on specific Enterprise Projects as needed.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Able to work effectively with end-users on general problems/troubleshooting.
- Assist IT Team and supervisor on special projects as needed
- Willing to work extended hours as required.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
Knowledge / Skills
- Proficient in the following development languages/environments:
- Experience in DAX is a bonus.
- Experience in systems and network support services
